This incense holder carries a torch against the encroaching night, but what does one fear when one is made of light? Apprehension acknowledges the space and time needed in preparing for the unknown. Light incense and take a moment to breathe out haste. As the Chinese say, “Go Slowly.”
Apprehension is made with high-fired porcelain. The main pieces are wheel thrown then added on top with details. Once sculpting is finished, it is slowly dried and then fired for the first time. The piece is then glazed and fired once more to reach its fully vitrified state. Selective details are then adorned with precious 22 karat gold and lastly, luster fired. Electrical wiring is then threaded through the vessel and assembled.
